What should I bring to my appointment?

On the day of your appointment, please bring the following:

• Current referral from your GP
• Medicare number
• Private health fund details (if you have cover)
• DVA, Workcover or CTP claim numbers (if relevant)
• Any X-rays, MRIs or CT scans (in addition to the radiology reports) relevant to your condition, or provide Dr King with electronic access to these
• A list of current medications and any previous operations.

Do I need a GP Referral?

Yes, if you want to claim a rebate for your consultation from Medicare. You can make the appointment without a referral, but you will need to get one before your appointment and have it on the day.

I have a referral from my physiotherapist/podiatrist, do I still need one from a GP?

Yes. You will still need a GP referral if you want to collect the Medicare rebate.

Do I need to bring along my xrays, scans or MRIs?

Yes. Dr King can access some, but not all, your radiology images and reports online. This depends on where your radiology (xray, ct scan, MRI and/or ultrasound) was performed. Our staff can advise how you can get your radiology information from the provider. You may need to have your radiology redone if Dr King cannot access your images and reports at the time of your appointment.
